Wines from Krasnodar will become better
Control of quantity and quality of wine, produced in the region of Krasnodar, became the main subject of a regional meeting of the government of Krasnodar region. Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Krasnodar region, vice-governor Sergey Garkusha, head of the Kuban Department of Consumer market and regulation of Alcohol sphere Alexey Titov, top-managers of wine-making enterprises, heads of professional unions of wine-making and wholesalers met to discuss the question of diminution of volume of production of wine aimed to improve its quality.
Mr. Garkusha informed that Krasnodar region showed some positive results, its wines are admitted by the world greatest wine experts at some prestigious International competitions in London, Vienna, Hong-Kong. In 2012 wines had got 44 medals of different ranges (vs 15 in 2011). The share of Kuban wine products at the Russian market is 43,6%.
Besides the last two years showed a decrease of production, there are two reasons for this fact: first of all, all the producers had to re-license their activity in 2011 and to work under a new regulation system of Federal law. The other reason of lower volume of production is the result of the inspection of wine-making enterprises in 2012 by Russian Alcohol Regulation department which provoked closure of some factories.
An outcome of the meeting was a decision to create a system of public control of production and turnover of wine and wine products through identification of wine products bought in the retail points of sales.
Kuban wine-making enterprises will receive recommendations to present samples of products to accredited laboratories for inspection under the methods of Russian Alcohol Regulation department.
Participants of the meeting took decision to effectuate a daily monitoring of the alcohol market and to create an expert-tasting commission for evaluation of quality of wines, bought in the retail points of sales, reports fedpress.ru.
