The 30th of November in the Tasting Hall of Academy of Sommelier Mozart Wine House had place a a session of the Regional Tasting Commission, organized by East European Association of Sommeliers and Experts and the Department of the Consumer Market of Rostov region. THe members of the Commission are masters of technology of the wine-making enterprises of the region and professional sommeliers. Samples presented by three Rostov producers participated in a blind tasting. The quality of wine was evaluated according to the 100 rate syustem which helps to get a complex idea of wine and to understand, what was a success of the producer and what they should improve. Samples were divided into three categories: sparkling wine from Rostov and Tsimlyansk, red wine and white wine form Vina Vedernikova. Another advantage of this system of evaluation is that the subject of the contest if to givew an objectif note, not to make a competition between producers. It means, that even though there will be winners, the wine can only be considerd as good if the average rate of it is more than 70. The results of hte contest and awarding will take place in the Academy of Sommelier Mozart Wine House on the 7th of December, during another event organized by East European Association of Sommeliers and Experts and the Department of the Consumer Market - Master Class for professional sommeliers where the technologists of the wine-winners will open some secrets of how to make wine in the region of the Don.
