East European Sommeliers and Experts Association Awards

 
 
07/12/2012 annual awards were given to the winners of the competition organized by Departure of Consumer Market and East European Sommeliers and Experts Association “Quality Control of the wines of the Don region”. Four categories were selected and 6 winners, determined by the rate of notes given during professional tasting, have got their Diploma from Mr. Ivanov A.N., the Director of the Department of the Consumer Market of the Rostov region and Mr. Vinnik A.V., the President of the East European Sommeliers and Experts Association:
White dry wine “Sibirkoviy” (80) and “Gubernatorskoe” (81), red dry wine “Krasnostop Zolotovskiy” (86) from Vina Vedernikova.
White sparkling semi-sweet wine “Silver Line” (80) from Rostov Sparkling Wine Factory.
White sparkling semi-sweet wine “Tsimlyanskoe” (80) and red sparkling sweet wine “By old Cossack method” (84) from Tsimlyanskie vina.

At the Master-Class Mr. Zeidov G.M., wine-maker of Vina Vedernikova, spoke about the names of the grapes and technology of production of wines, one of which “Krasnostop Zolotovskiy” was appreciated by the tasters and recommended to the buyers of the restaurants.

The Chief Technologist of the Rostov Sparkling Wine Factory Mr. Nepranov G.F. opened some secrets of creation of sparkling wines, which Mr. Vinnik A.V. , member of Control Tasting group and Exert of EESEA, characterized as a good example of quality/price balance for mass consumption.

Among the wines of Tsimlyanskie Vina, the one, made of autochtonous grapes according to ancient recipes “By old Cossack method” proved its reputation of a self-made wine which has its lovers and critics.

Special guest of the event, Mr. Popovich L.L., Director of the Union of wine-makers and vine-growers of the Russian Federation, during a meeting of representatives of Department of Consumer Market and East European Sommeliers and Experts Association said that there is a necessity to personalize regulative norms for wine-making sector and the work was started as 8 public organizations had written a letter to promote the project of the law limiting the minimal retail price of sparkling wines in Russia.
