State Department “State Scientific Research Institute of brewery, non-alcoholic drinks and wine-making” of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Science developed a new state standard. The standard “Wines of protected geographical appellations and wines of protected appellations of place of origin” will come into force on the 1st of July 2013. Non-commercial partnership “Wine-making Union” proposed to include a question of the regulation of the giving to wines the statuses of “wines of protected geographical appellations” and “wines of protected appellations of place of origin” into the agenda of an up-coming meeting of the Working Group of wine-making products of the Expert Commission under the Federal Service of regulation of the alcohol market. Another question is the control function of an accredited organization which should be approved by the Government of the Russian Federation according to the clause 5.11 of the above GOST. The agenda of the meeting of the Working Group of wine-making products of the Expert Commission under the Federal Service of regulation of the alcohol market will also include the questions, taken into consideration by the Federal Service of regulation of the alcohol market after the inspections of quality of wine, as well as multiple appeals of social organizations regarding wine quality control.
