Vega Sicilia will be sold at an auction

 
 
A huge collection of wines presented for sales by a legendary producer Vega Sicilia will be sold at Sotheby’s in Hong-Kong next month. The auction will take place in the Exhibition Center of Hong-Kong on the 4th of April. Between the lots there will be a vertical collection of 22 Magnums of wine Vega Sicilia Unico from 1970 till 1999 vintages. One of the lots from the private collection of Pablo Alvarez, Managing Director, is supposed to get from 12250 till 20600 dollars. Generally at the auction there will be 234 lots from Vega Sicilia, including 42 vintages of Unico from 1941 to 2002 in different forms, like a lot of 6 bottles of 1942 vintage which can get from 10 to 15 thousand dollars. There also will be such wines like Reserva Especial and Valbuana #5, as well as Alión from Ribera del Duero, Pintia from Toro and Tokaji Oremus from Hungary. Total quantity of lots of the auction will be 620 which are expected to gather 1,9-2,7 mln dollars. They will present Bordeaux, Burgundy, Val de Rhone and California. Source – www.decanter.com
